On Sunday, November 23rd, U.S Marine Corps veteran Brady Anderson and his family were surprised with keys to a mortgage-free home through the HomeStrong’s Heroes program. The donation was made possible through partnerships with Bank of America and the National Community Stabilization Trust (NCST).

“Giving back to those who protect our freedoms is a humbling experience,” said Jed Davis, CEO of HomeStrong USA. “Without the sacrifices made by our active service members and veterans, the American Dream of Homeownership would not be possible for any of us.”

Brady Anderson enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps to serve his Country and be part of something bigger than himself.

“I wanted do something that I could look back on one day, and genuinely be proud of,” said Anderson.

While serving as a Signals Intelligence Analyst at multiple military bases, Lance Corp. Anderson was responsible for developing and maintaining records on technical aspects of target communications, developing and maintaining communication order of battle files and situation maps. For more than four years, Anderson has only seen his family a few times.

After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in November of this year, Anderson, along with his wife and newborn son, took a road trip from North Carolina to visit his parents in Kansas. Anderson was excited to see his family once again and had no idea what was in store for him. After arriving in Kansas, the Andersons were surprised to find out that they were the recipient of a mortgage-free home through the HomeStrong’s Heroes program.

“I don’t know. I feel like ‘thank you’ isn’t even enough! I don’t know what else to say, we are just so grateful to have this house. This is a huge blessing to know now we have a home for us and our son,” cried Anderson’s wife, Sarah.

For the first time, The Anderson’s spent Thanksgiving in a home that they can call their own.
